About

Jordan Sunderland is a commercial photographer with a fine-art approach to his themes surrounding the natural relationship between people and place. Jordan is a multimedia photographer with years of experience shooting both analogue and digital images, and sees photography as an ethical practice of representation that tells stories of human identity and connection. He is continuously inspired by the lived experiences of the people he photographs, particularly those who feel underrepresented and prioritises a slower, person-centred approach in contrast to contemporary fast media culture, as he believes that meaningful imagery takes time, trust and active observation. This allows for honest collaboration and considered visual narratives.

Jordan’s vision is predominantly monochromatic, in which he uses natural light in continuously changing environments to build connections among tone, form, and subject. Whether working with local charities on campaign imagery, photographing weddings entirely on film, or developing personal projects centred on identity and representation, Jordan aims to merge a fine art sensibility with commercial functionality.
